Spring finally arrived in College Park, at least for Monday. The Terps practiced this morning in 65-degree temperatures. For the most part, the session had very few highlights as per typical for a beginning the final week practice. There were a handful of recruits on hand, most notably, 2018 Paramus Catholic quarterback Allan Walters. There were multiple coaches from various high schools including, Quince Orchard, Landon, Georgetown Prep, Gonzaga, Montvale (NJ) and Paramus Catholic (NJ).

The 'Play of the Day' came from Daniel Ezeaqwu when he laid out Jacquille Veii, which could have been a helmet-to-helmet if in an actual game. Other than that, Roman Braglio was credited with a quarterback sack. Sean Davis made a tackle in the backfield. Anthony Nixon had an interception and returned it 36-yards. But, the 'Defensive Player of the Day' was Denzel Conyers with a pick in the red zone and a pass break-up in the corner of the end zone.

On offense, Deandre Lane opened up the 7-on-7 play with a 55-yard touchdown catch. Juwann Winfree made a diving catch and then hauled in another 21-yarder. The best run from scrimmage of the day came from Jacquille Veii with a 19-yarder. Reserve fullback Andrew Stefanelli ran over and through a couple of players for a 17-yard run.

Afterwards, head Coach Randy Edsall had some fun predicting that Wisconsin to win the National Championship tonight and he is happy to see that baseball and his Orioles are opening up this afternoon.
