COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior Jared Bernhardt was named to the 2019 Tewaaraton Award watch list Thursday evening in a release made by the foundation. Bernhardt is a two-time USILA all-American and a 2018 First Team All-Big Ten choice.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

Bernhardt is off to another strong start for the second-ranked Terrapins, amassing 23 points through five games on 16 goals and seven assists. The Longwood, Fla. native has totaled three hat tricks so far this season, including a five-goal output in Maryland’s 10-9 win over Richmond.

Bernhardt eclipsed 100 career points as a Terp with his first goal of the game against #16 Colgate on February 19, becoming the 55th Terp in program history to reach the milestone. Bernhardt now has 107 points (76 G, 31 A) in 42 career games played (T-47th at UMD), and will continue to move up the all-time scoring list as the season progresses.

Bernhardt and Maryland will take their undefeated record (5-0) on the road this week when the team travels to face No. 17 Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind on March 3.
