Terps freshman MF Amar Sejdic was named Big Ten co-offensive player of the week this week after scoring two goals versus St. John's. Terps will next play No. 1 UCLA on Friday at Ludwig Field. We got to speak with Sasho after Edsall's presser and will have that soon. Here's the release.

Co-Offensive Players of the Week

Amar Sejdic, Maryland

MF – Fr. – Louisville, Ky. – Vista Grande

  • Scored a combined two goals and tallied five shots in Maryland’s 0-0 draw against No. 4 Notre Dame and 4-0 win over St. John’s
  • Tallied three shots against the Fighting Irish
  • Scored two goals on two shots versus St. John’s
  • Named Most Valuable Offensive Player of the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic
  • Collects his first career Offensive Player of the Week award
  • Last Maryland Offensive Player of the Week: Mikias Eticha (Oct. 20, 2014)
Jason Wright, Rutgers

F – So. – Kingston, Jamaica – Wolmers Boys School

  • Scored two goals on five shots in Rutgers’ 4-2 win over Siena
  • Collected the game-winning goal for the Scarlet Knights
  • Collects his first career Offensive Player of the Week award

Defensive Player of the Week

Matt Bersano, Penn State

GK – Sr. – Tempe, Ariz. – Corona del Sol

  • Collected a combined nine saves and one shutout in Penn State’s 1-0 win over San Francisco and 1-1 double-overtime draw against Navy
  • Tallied three saves against San Francisco
  • Notched six saves against Navy’s 17 shots, including eight shots on goal
  • Collects his first career Defensive Player of the Week award
  • Last Penn State Defensive Player of the Week: Andrew Wolverton (Oct. 6, 2014)
