COLLEGE PARK, Md.-- The University of Maryland athletics department and the M Club proudly announced the selection of 10 exceptional alumni selected for induction into the University of Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2022.
The class includes: Katie (O’Donnell) Bam (field hockey), Dominic Berger (men’s track & field), Vernon Davis (football), Bob Grossman (baseball), Sascha Newmarch (women’s lacrosse), Caitlyn (McFadden) Phipps (women’s lacrosse), Hudson Taylor (wrestling), Kristi Toliver (women’s basketball), Taylor Twellman (men’s soccer) and Greivis Vasquez (men’s basketball).
"We would like to congratulate all of this year's inductees and their families," said University of Maryland Director of Athletics Damon Evans. "This is a tremendous class of Hall of Famers who have made an undeniable impact on Maryland athletics both on and off the field. We're looking forward to celebrating this outstanding class and recognizing their academic and athletic achievements."
Founded in 1982 by the M Club and developed as a collaborative effort with the Athletics Department, the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame pays tribute to those superior Terrapin athletes, coaches and administrators who have made major contributions to the honor and fame of the University of Maryland, and have continued to demonstrate the positive values learned through competing in intercollegiate sports. Induction into the Hall of Fame represents the highest athletic honor the University can bestow.

The M Club will also present Honorary M Awards to Jim Knight, Jim Merkel, Linh Nguyen, Chuck Rosenfield, and Jim Spencer for their longtime dedication to Maryland athletics. Martin and Tricia Green will be honored with the Distinguished Citizens of the Year in recognition of their years of unwavering support of Maryland student-athletes.

Katie (O’Donnell) Bam 2010, Field Hockey
- Considered to be one of the best American field hockey players in the history of the sport
- Two-time winner of the Honda Award
- Just the third (and one of only three) Maryland student-athletes to be a four-time First-Team All-American
- Two-time NFHCA Regional Player of the Year (2009 and 2010)
- Led Maryland to the 2008 and 2010 NCAA Championships
- The top scorer of the 2009 and 2010 NCAA Tournaments and three-time NCAA All-Tournament team selection
- Ranks first all-time at Maryland in points (306), goals (99) and assists (108, which is an NCAA record)
- Four-time ACC Offensive Player of the Year (only the third student-athlete to win all four years in any sport)
- Two-time ACC Tournament MVP and four-time selection to ACC All-Tournament team; two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection
- Member of the 2012 London and 2016 Rio U.S. Olympic teams
- Led the U.S. National team to gold medals at the 2015 & 2011 Pan American Games, the 2014 Champions Challenge, the 2013 World League Round 2, and the 2008 Junior Pan American Games; competed in 222 international caps for the U.S. Women's National Team
Dominic Berger 2007, Men’s Track & Field
- Three-time All-American (Indoor 60 Hurdles - 2006 and 2007, Outdoor 110 Hurdles - 2006)
- NCAA Runner-Up in 110 Hurdles in 2006
- Four-time ACC champion (Indoor 60 Hurdles - 2006 and 2007, Outdoor 110 Hurdles - 2006 and 2007)
- Six-time All-ACC selection (Indoor & Outdoor from 2006-08)
- Holds the second-fastest time in Maryland history in outdoor 110 Hurdles when he graduated, only behind Renaldo Nehemiah
- Still holds the school record in the indoor 60 Hurdles (7.67) by .25 seconds
- Continued to compete after graduation and finished second in the 60 Hurdles at the 2014 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships
Vernon Davis 2005, Football
- First-Team All-American in 2005 by the Associated Press, AFCA and CollegeFootballNews.com
- First team All-ACC in 2005
- Named the 2005 team MVP
- Finished his career tied for 15th in career receptions with 83
- Led the team in receptions and receiving yards in back-to-back seasons in 2004 and 2005
- 871 receiving yards in 2005 were fifth-most in program history and still rank seventh for single-season receiving yards
- Selected with the sixth overall pick in the first round of the 2006 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
- Played in the NFL for 14 seasons for San Francisco, Denver and Washington
- 2013 All-Pro selection and Super Bowl 50 Champion
- Two-time Pro Bowl selection (2009 and 2013)
Bob Grossman 1972, Baseball
- First-Team AACBA All-American as a junior in 1972
- Named ACC Player of the Year and All-ACC in 1972, the only Terp to ever be named ACC Player of the Year
- Recorded the first two no-hitters in Maryland history: March 25. 1972 against Syracuse, 9-0 and April 8, 1972 against North Carolina, 6-0
- Led Maryland to two ACC Championships in 1970 and 1971
- Drafted by Cleveland after his junior season, in the second round (26th overall)
- Played seven years in the Cleveland organization and was a member of the 40-man roster for three seasons
- Owner and clinical director for 30 years of Sports and Orthopaedic Therapy Services, a physical therapy practice emphasizing functional diagnosis and manual therapy in Silver Spring, Md.
Sascha Newmarch 1998, Women’s Lacrosse
- Lead the Terps to four straight National Championships from 1995-98, going 75-4 over her time at Maryland
- Three-time All-American in 1996, 1997 and 1998
- Three-time member of the NCAA Tournament All-Tournament team (1996, 1997, 1998)
- All-ACC selection in 1997 and 1998
- 1998 National Midfielder of the Year
- Led Maryland in points and goals in 1998
- Finished her career fourth all-time in points (223), fifth in goals (149), and sixth all-time in assists (74)
- Was third all-time in career groundballs with 167 when she concluded her career
- Australia native played for the National Team from 1992-2005
- Set the path for many Aussie Terps to make their way to College Park from down under, including Jen Adams, Sarah Forbes and Sarah Mollison
