COLLEGE PARK, MD – Four-star guard Malachi Palmer has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Maryland. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound guard announced his commitment in January choosing the Terps over Florida State, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, and West Virginia.

"We're excited to welcome Malachi to the program," said head coach Kevin Willard. "He adds good size and versatility, has the ability to get to the rim, and is a physical guard."

Overall, Palmer is the second ranked recruit from Maryland and the No. 119 overall recruit in the class after playing the last two seasons at Mt. Zion Prep. He started his high school career at Central Dauphin in Pennsylvania before transferring to Hillcrest Prep in Arizona. He also played on the EYBL circuit for Team Melo and NY Renaissance. At Mt. Zion, Palmer crested the 1,000 point plateau as a senior.

As a freshman, Palmer was named a MaxPreps Freshman All-American. He was also a First Team All-Elite Prep League selection as a junior.

This summer he has been selected to play in both the Capital Classic and the Iverson Classic Showcase.

In addition to Palmer, the Terps have also previously announced the additions of transfer guards Rodney Rice (Virginia Tech) and Ja'Kobi Gillespie (Belmont).
