Why schedule ANY OOC game vs a team that will not draw local interest, or draw travelers to taste a Maryland crabcake?
Why not schedule almost anybody from the ACC, ECU, Tenn (why have we so rarely played them?), SC, etc., teams from our former footprint? Teams that will bring people to campus. USF ain't bringing nobody, BGSU either. Terps are in a bigboy conference, building bigboy facilities and want to turn a profit. Schedule like you want to turn a profit. Keeping the WV series is crucial but bringing teams like Tenn, SC, VT, UVA would bring bonanza. Jerry brought AL. Bobby played a nasty OOC schedule. What did BGSU bring? We paid for them to beat us.
What teams would you like to see come to UA Stadium at Plank Field? My OOC schedule would be UVA every year game 1, WV every year game 2, ECU/Pitt/NCSU/Navy/Temple game 3, then the biggy Tenn/SC/AL/Aub (hence, an SEC team) or an exotic team such as Texas/Notre Dame/USC/OK etc. Bling.
