Reuben was an early grad who got here the spring prior to COVID hitting and he's on our leadership counsel and he's a guy who jumped out quickly to the staff and his teammates as having some natural leadership tendencies and now as a starter he's the quarterback of our defense. Last week with the loss of Fa'Najae early, he took care of the young guys when they were out there, he was making calls, getting others lined up correctly and he has a positive influence on his teammates.

We're a team that's a multi-tempo offense, meaning we can play fast or slow it down, like on the goal line. And when you can play both ways, you put the defensive coordinator on a yo-yo of not knowing what to expect. The ultimate goal for us is to get in as many plays as possible and the magic number for us is 80 plays. We'd like to have as many opportunities as possible for our playmakers to get touches and the more touches they get the better the chances are good things happen.

For us, it's all about this week and not looking back on last week. Our WR room is extremely talented, but we had some drops, 3rd down drops so there is clearly room for improvement. And we'd like to see guys like Cobbs and Carriere get some more opportunities this week and we have to do a better job of planning to get guys like Cobbs, who is basically a starter, to get more involved. But as good as Jarrett and Demus looked, we need to work to get others more involved moving forward.

Again, it isn't about who our opponent is, it is about playing to the standard and we set the standard. We showed it last week in the win over West Virginia. But by playing up to the standard, there is no getting caught up in big games or overlooking teams like Howard.

We've got one film from this year for Howard as they played Richmond and we have some spring tape on them as well, so we are putting a game plan together with that. Do we need to establish the run? Yes, we showed in the 2nd half vs. WVU we need to establish the run and we will look to do that on Saturday.
