Let Lockley try his hand at Maryland as the HC and sign Frank Reich as the OC. This could be such a win/win.
Frank reich would be great for the alumni and fan base as well as the offense. Haskins could not ask for a better tutor to help him get to the NFL.
College football is all about recruiting and coaching. This would be the best of both worlds.
Locksley could complete what he started with the DMV movement to College Park and Frank Reich could help bridge the gap with alumni to help raise money for the football program as well as lead the offense.
I know some people will look at locksley's success or lack there of success as a head coach at New Mexico. But come on, how many coaches have ever been successful there. It is a wasteland for college football. I say, give the guy a chance at Maryland. After all the cavalry is still a few years away in College Park. Once the resources like the indoor practice facility are in place, it should be a little easier to bring in and keep local talent at home to be competitive in the Big 10. Therefore, it makes no sense to get rid of the one advantage we have now in building a solid recruiting base in our back yard. people will agree, it will be a lot easier once the indoor practice facility is in place, but until than, we need every angle we can get over our competition.
The players like Mike Locksley and want to play for him. Lets surround him with talented coaches and see what he can do in the next two years.
