Taylor Mikesell goes for a game-high 33 points on 11-13 shooting (Ouch), 5 - 5 from 3 Pt land (Double Ouch), 6 - 6 from the line. Terps had no defensive answer for her. Meanwhile, Owusu continues to struggle mightily from the field (3 - 15), continuing to force shots and play out of control. She has that look on her face like she has checked out with her own brand of hero ball. Wonder if she will be the next to transfer out for her senior year. The ironic twist, as I understand it, is that Mikesell left because she wanted the offense to run through her and wanted to be the PG--which I have never understood as she is a natural as a SG. But Brenda committed to Owusu as her PG, which made sense when Ashley was playing at a higher level two years ago. A real shame Mikesell left--we could use her scoring.

Much like their basketball brothers, the ladies dug a 10 point hole in the first period which they were not able to overcome even while scoring 89 points and outscoring OSU by 4 points in the final three quarters. Most teams that score 89 points are able to win unless of course you give up 95 points with weak defense. Not sure what happened to this team--they really played like a team last season. The chemistry is missing this season. Benzan has been doing a decent job handling the ball more but as a shorter player she needs to utilize ball fakes and bounce passes more and not try to throw over taller players. The freshman Sellers has great energy and a great bball pedigree but I think her upside is limited. Brenda needs some size and ballhandlers for next year.

Still plenty of season left--hopefully they figure it out!
