VJ King, one of the top prospects in the Class of 2016, narrowed his list of potential colleges to five on Thursday, and both Louisville and Kentucky made the final grouping, which he posted on Instagram.
The five-star wing, ranked among the top 20 players in his class by every major recruiting site, recently impressed at the Nike EYBL event in Lexington, averaging 21.3 points per game in the first three contests he played there.
King, a 6-foot-7, 190-pound scorer, also mentioned Arizona, Connecticut and Virginia on his final list. He has only set one official visit so far, a May 19 trip to U of L.
U of L appears to be in good position for King, who is currently rated the fourth-best small forward in his class by ESPN. Cards assistant Kenny Johnson and King have gotten "really close,"
