Yes, there it is. I've said it. I've come to the dark side. I know I'm one of the biggest homers on this board when it comes to keeping coaches in place to see how they pan out, but I just flat out can't take this anymore.
Last Saturday, I had visions of Ron Vanderlinden's staff when we were getting road-graded by WVU. I thought we were out-coached, out-played, out-hustled, out-athleted, and basically out-everythinged else.
It has pained me for years to read all the negativity towards Randy Edsall and his staff on this board. I've always quietly thought, "For God's sake people, give the man a chance to build his program."
Well, after the debacle I witnessed in Morgantown, I believe all the naysayers might be on to something here.
When my man Fridge was at the helm I always felt we had a chance to win...regardless of what players we put on the field and what their skill sets were. He could coach his tail off and any football novice could see that.
When I watch my team now, I don't have that same warm and fuzzy anymore. I see a big opponent on the schedule and the only conclusion I can draw is WE ARE LOSING. I HATE THAT DAMN IT!!! Losing sucks and I'm a sore friggin' loser.
My time allotment to continually see progress in the Edsall era ended on Saturday. Why? Because I was actually embarrassed as a Maryland fan. There's losing, and then there's losing like this past Saturday. That's a whole different brand of losing. That's I'm-kicking-your-ass-and-taking-your-girlfriend losing. And to me, that's totally unacceptable. It's time to move in a different direction.
I say cut your losses after this season and get somebody in here that will change the face of the program. Because right now we are terrible.
