Another huge road game this afternoon, as the Terps will take on a Hoosiers squad coming off of a tough road loss at Northwestern (sound familiar?).
Maryland got huge performances last time out from both Queen AND Reese, but they will have their hands full today with massive 7-footer and Arizona transfer Oumar Ballo, who is Indiana's leading scorer and rebounder, averaging a double-double. Indiana also still has a pair of 6-foot-9 freak athletes in Malik Reneau and Mackenzie Mgbako, both of whom are averaging double-figure scoring. Frankly, when you look at this Indiana roster, they look like one of the most underperforming teams in the country to my eyes. Yes, Stanford transfer guard Kanaan Carlyle has not been good, but they have plenty of depth at the 2/3 coming off the bench to make up for it. Former local standout Bryson Tucker missed the Northwestern game but is expected to play today. I guess all of this to say, this Indiana team is a complete enigma to me and I have no idea what to expect from them this afternoon. For the Terps, if they can keep doing what they did against Illinois, they should be in pretty good shape. But it won't be easy. A win would be absolutely massive though, as it would move them two games above .500 with two big road wins and have them solidly in the upper half of the B1G standings heading into the final month of the season.
Should be a big national audience today, as the game can be seen on CBS.
