A couple of common themes I've heard from AAU higher ups and parents of kids being recruited by Maryland the past couple of weeks are that Turgeon's coaching style and his hands on approach to recruiting are really resonating with the kids.
Whether true or not (I'm sure some here will want to argue), the perception among kids is that Turgeon lets his guys get out and play and Maryland plays an appealing brand of basketball. He's also seen as someone who will adapt offensively to benefit his players strengths.
The other big thing I've heard is that his hands on approach with top targets really resonates with prospects. It seems like a given that head coaches at big time programs would be hands on with their top targets, but you'd be surprised how often it is NOT the case.
Turgeon has always gotten after it in his time here, the only thing missing were the results, now that he's got the results to show it's working, the perception has changed a bit. Basically, Turgeon is white hot on the recruiting trail right now with no signs of it slowing down any time soon.
