As any player or coach would tell you after a loss, it's never easy. This one in particular is definitely leaving a bad taste in the Terps' mouths because of the outcome and what could have been, considering they were so close and had plenty of opportunities that weren't capitalized on. But for the most part, this is a team that feels good about its performance today, and rightfully so.
No one ever wants to lose to Penn State (that part sucks), but this was by far the most entertaining Maryland football game of the year and the players played with the energy and passion that Locksley has talked about bringing back to the program since he took over the head coaching job.
This wasn't a game that Maryland was supposed to win anyway, but it was certainly right there for them to take. But most importantly, we got to see a brand of football that makes the Terps look like they will be competitive in all of their games for the rest of the season. And that, my friends, is progress.
