Don't forget it. I like everyone else was pained to see Randy sitting their with the sword of Damocles over his head. He is a Maryland Terrapin fan. I like him, I have talked to him countless times. He is honorable and a good person. When I first met him I told him get to Good Counsel and start recruiting we have some players here. He pulled a Good Counsel coach's card out of his jacket pocket and said "I'm already on it" I wanted Randy to succeed in the worst way. When I think of Randy I think that "Some men rise by sin, and others fall by virtue."

I am not going to get into all the areas where Randy frustrated me. I can say this I worked to get a sports management program and Alcohol at the university and those were easier than trying to get Randy to simply open up practices to fans.

You have THREE main goals as a football coach:

#1 Win games
#2 Sell tickets
#3 fund raise

There are other secondary and tertiary goals you can have. You can run a clean program, you can graduate players, you can keep your school free of scandal, you can send guys to the NFL, you can be loyal to your kids, but you have GOT to do those first three things. Unfortunately Randy is a stubborn man. He had opportunities to vastly improve those three goals and did not. For that he must go, and must go now.

NO one should take pleasure in Randy suffering or being fired. Don't ask for whom the bell tolls it tolls for thee. We all suffer when we have to make a move like this. The only good is that we will be better for it.

Successful football coaches usually have attributes that many of us find unpleasant, but we accept if they accomplish the first three goals.

I have no inside info on this, but my guess is Randy will be let go tomorrow afternoon during the NFL games so he can say his goodbyes and we can get our kids working on PSU for the next two weeks. There is no need to prolong his suffering.

Once that happens I hope we can rally:

*Join the Terrapin Club, or Increase your giving level to support a administration that takes football seriously. I will tell you guys who wagered with me or who want to help, how we should go about doing this to signal admin we are supporting the move to a more serious football program.

Then onto Baltimore and defend our state from the criminal enabling scumbags who believe Baltimore is part of their state and thought holding the 60 million ransom for the victims until Joe Paterno's wins were restored was ethical behavior. They have learned nothing, and still believe football is more important than children's lives.
