ROSEMONT, Ill. – University of Maryland senior wide receiver Tai Felton was named First Team All-Big Ten and five total Terrapins earned all-conference accolades as the league announced its 2024 honorees on Tuesday.

Felton was selected First Team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and the media. He’s the first Terp receiver to be named first team all-conference since DJ Moore in 2017.

Maryland defensive back Dante Trader Jr. and punter Bryce McFerson were each named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten by both the coaches and the media, while linebacker Ruben Hyppolite IIand defensive back Glendon Miller were each named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten by the media.

Felton led the Big Ten in both receptions (96) and receiving yards (1,124) and finished tied for third in receiving touchdowns (9). He finished the season with 15 more receptions than the next closest Big Ten player and 140 more receiving yards. Felton’s 96 receptions, which were the most among all Power Conference players, set a Maryland single-season program record. A Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, Felton had five or more receptions in 11 games and he led the conference with five 100-yard receiving games.

Hyppolite II led the Terps and tied for 26th in the Big Ten with 66 total tackles (33 solo). He also added 6.5 tackles for loss (tied-for third on the team), two pass breakups and an interception. The Fort Lauderdale, FL native had five or more tackles in eight different games and had seven games with at least 0.5 tackles for loss. A leader of the Maryland defense for five seasons, this is Hyppolite’s second career All-Big Ten honor as he was named third team all-conference in 2023.

McFerson finished the season with a 45.1 punting average, ranking second in the Big Ten and 11th nationally among punters with a minimum of 3.6 punts per game. His 18 punts of 50+ yards and 21 punts placed inside the 20-yard line both rank third in the conference. McFerson, who was named to the Ray Guy Award’s Ray’s 8 in each of the first three weeks of the season, had a 50+ yard punt in 10 of 12 games, with a season-long of 64.

Miller finished the season with three interceptions, tied for both the sixth-most in the Big Ten and the most on the Terps. Miller also added 39 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and a fumble recovery. The redshirt senior from Orange Park, FL had a four-game streak with an interception dating back to the 2023 season, the longest for a Maryland player since 1999.

Trader led the Terps in solo tackles (37) and finished second on the team in total tackles (59), despite missing two games due to injury. His four pass breakups were also good for a team-high and he added one interception. The Witten Award Semifinalist was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16 for his 11 tackle, one-interception performance in a 27-13 Maryland win at Virginia. Trader recorded nine or more tackles in three of his 10 games played.

The Big Ten also announced each team's Sportsmanship Award Honoree with running back Roman Hemby being chosen as Maryland’s representative.
