Maryland has an update on Dion's injury status and unfortunately, he tore his meniscus in his right knee and is out indefinitely. Here's the release from the school.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore Dion Wiley sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee, head coach Mark Turgeon announced Saturday.

Wiley, who suffered the injury at practice Thursday, is scheduled to have surgery in Baltimore later this week. A timetable for his return has not yet been determined.

"I’m so disappointed for Dion because he has made significant strides this offseason," Turgeon said. "Dion has matured, worked hard in the offseason and has really come on strong this fall. I know Dion will be determined to return from this setback and continue to be an integral part of our basketball program."

A native of Oxon Hill, Md., Wiley appeared in all 35 games as a freshman last season, averaging 4.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game for the Terps. He scored a career-high 19 points and six rebounds against VMI. The 6-foot-4 guard helped guide Maryland to a school-record 26 wins during the regular season in 2014-15 and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
