Some thoughts on yesterday's win after sleeping on it.

- This is Derik Queen's team. Period. The quicker he becomes the No. 1 alpha and everyone else on the team recognizes it, the better for the team in the long run.

- Still think Gillespie is just scratching the surface of how good he can be by the end of the season. He's still adjusting to playing in big environments and will likely need some time to adjust to playing against other P4 guards on a nightly basis, but he has all the tools to be very, very good at this level and should continue to improve as the season goes on.

- Rice is the shooter this team has been lacking. Sure, he maybe takes a shot or two that might make you cringe, but he makes enough long-distance shots you are ok with it. He's got a quick release and isn't gun shy.

- I agree with those who say there is a role for DHS as a defensive stopper. But with that said, he can't be fouling out of games after just 16 minutes of action. The best thing that can happen is that he accepts this role, really works at it and he just lets any offense come to him and doesn't push it at that end of the floor.

- I know it is an extremely small sample size, but feel like Palmer should maybe start seeing some of both DHS and Miguel's minutes. He's a kid who, before he transferred to Mt. Zion was like a top-75 kid in his class and he's got the body and the athleticism to make an immediate impact at this level. He looks comfortable out there for being a freshman and his outside shot has been solid.

- Feel like Selton Miguel might be best served coming off the bench. This puts Willard in a tough spot, as I'm not sure either Miguel or DHS should be starting at the moment. But the bottom line is, you can't have a guy who is supposed to be a top-4 scoring option going scoreless in multiple games at this point in the season. I do think he will eventually be fine, but maybe try bringing him in as the first guy off the bench. He was 6th man of the year in the AAC last year, maybe he's best suited for that role. If it were me, I'd tinker with Palmer in the starting lineup with some of the creampuffs coming up before B1G play starts.

What do you guys think? Agree or disagree with any of the above?

Have your expectations for the rest of the season changed at all after yesterday's win?
