COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Reigning Lou Groza Award winner Brad Craddock has been named a Lou Groza National Collegiate Place Kicker Award “Star of the Week” after his performance on opening day against Richmond.

Craddock picked up right where he left off after his successful 2014 season, matching his career-high with three field goals in the Terps’ season-opening win. He also had a career-high 14 points in the game, knocking in five extra point attempts in addition to his three field goals.

The Australia native became just the third player in Maryland history to make 50 career field goals against Richmond, and is also currently the career leader in field goal percentage (.813).

Garrett Owens (Oregon State) and Jaden Oberkrom (TCU) were also named “Stars of the Week.”

College football’s top kicking award, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award presented by the Orange Bowl recognizes three of the top kickers each week from FBS division teams as the “Stars of the Week.”

The Lou Groza Award will be presented as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards in Atlanta, GA on Thursday, December 10th. The three finalists will be honored at the 24th Annual Lou Groza Awards Banquet on Monday, December 7 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, FL.
