Initially I posted this as a reply, but I think this topic could generate significant feedback so I wanted to start a new thread. A lot of talk has centered around RE's departure without any discourse regarding a potential replacement.
"I found an article regarding what Athlon Sports (never heard of them) believed to be, "College Football's Top 15 Coaches on the Rise." I attached it below. What do you guys think? Any worth considering?
I have personally been impressed by the improvement of the Western Michigan, Utah State, Temple, Bowling Green, and Northern Illinois programs. From there I guess its ability to recruit, ties to the area and preferred system. Assuming our class holds (I believe Tino and Dwyane's tweets) the Bowling Green coach would make a good fit with his ability to emphasize the passing attack.
One of these guys could work because we wouldnt need a lot of money to secure them; it would be an opportunity to coach in the B1G and enjoy the benefits of UA. These guys have proven they can coach and have been successful without the top recruits. I'm less inclined to favor an NFl coach who needs to make the transition. We have guys in the NFL and McCardell helps us in that vein as well."
