With the news dropping earlier this afternoon that Bruno Fernando has officially left school and will remain in the NBA Draft, it could be an indication that the wheels are beginning to move on the recruitment of Chol Marial, the 7-foot-2 center who visited College Park last week.
I reached out to Marial's prep coach Pete Kaffey this afternoon to see if he had any updates and he told me Chol "really likes Maryland" but he is still waiting for him to make a decision. Perhaps the most interesting part though is that Kaffey also said that Turgeon just texted him a little bit ago and told him that the scholarship Chol would be taking is officially open.
Reading the tea leaves, this could be a good sign for Maryland here.
