Spring practice for Terps football opened today and the media was allowed to view the first 30 minutes. We will be getting to interview Locksley after practice and will share that with you shortly after we get it.

Not too much to report from the portion of practice that we got to see. Mostly just stretching and some basic position drills are all we get to observe. With Legendre and Jackson not expected to be in action until fall camp, the only quarterbacks on the field this spring are Ty Pigrome, Max Bortenschlager, and Tyler DeSue. Kasim Hill is likely still rehabbing his injury but also remains in the transfer portal. I looked (and may have missed him) but I did not see him out on the field today in street clothes or anything.

Only real thing of note from today's practice is that during OL drills they seemed to have them paired up in groups of five, with the starting five all together. Four of the starting five on the offensive front are pretty obvious entering next season: OT - Marcus Minor, OG - Terrance Davis, C - Johnny Jordan, OG - Sean Christie. The second OT spot is one of the biggest offseason position battles for the Terps and guys like Ellis McKennie, Tyran Hunt, TJ Bradley, and Jaelyn Duncan are all guys that are in the mix. But, as I sort of expected, Duncan appears to be getting the reps with that first unit for now.

As far as recruits go, lots of HS kids at practice today. Honestly, too many to even keep track of or get all the names of in the short time we had. But in short, it appears the entire Woodrow Wilson team was here today as well as Gonzaga QB Caleb Williams.
