I wanted to let everyone know that I'll no longer be covering Maryland recruiting for you guys full-time. As you all know, I cover Penn State full-time and I've began working with the Pitt site recently. Since I live in Pennsylvania, focusing on these two schools makes the most sense for me long-term. That'll also allow Scott to bring in some local reporters for you all.
The main reason I'm posting this is because I wanted to thank you all. You guys have been very good to me and I appreciate that. I know I had a few of you - OK, more than a few - worried when I first started, haha, but once I got to chat with many of you, I really enjoyed getting to know you all.
Also, I genuinely mean it when I say that I'm really looking forward to watching this team grow and take those next steps in the coming years. In addition to the relationships I have with many of the freshman and current recruits, plus some people that work in Gossett, I really got a good feel for the passion you all have. I know you guys really want a program that makes you proud and I really believe that's coming.
You guys know the Athletic Department and its tendencies when it comes to hires better than myself, but I really believe that they mean business with this next coach. I hope they get a coach that you all want. I really do. A good Maryland program would be great for not just the Big Ten, but east coast football in general. Maryland has some great fans. You all deserve that kind of program and I hope you get it.
Over the next few weeks, I will help and contribute when needed, but I won't be on the board as often as I have been over the past two years. Beyond that, I'll also chime in whenever I can to pass on upcoming visits or offers that I come across while reaching out to recruits.
But sincerely, thank you all again. This was my first stepping stone to prove that I can take on a bigger workload and move up the ladder at Rivals. I'm really happy I got to do that with the Maryland site. You guys helped me improve by keeping me on my toes, haha, so thanks for that.
