I was looking at a week old edition of USA Today. I did not realize that A.J. DeLaGarza and Omar Gonzalez were the two central defenders for the L.A. Galaxy.

Did They play together on one or two national Championship teams at Maryland. I'm Thinking one.

AJ was a reserve on the 2005 squad who was forced into a starting role for the first time at the Final Four. The starter, a big, strapping central defender named Kenney Bertz got injured in the Quarterfinal game against Akron -- got hit on the head and broke his eye socket -- so AJ subbed in and then started in the FF and did a brilliant job. He and Omar were on the 2008 team. I think Omar was two years behind AJ, but I would have to double=check that.
