Today is men’s hoops media day on campus and Kevin Willard just had his presser.
A couple of noteworthy things he said:
He and Cooley had initially agreed to start an annual series with G’town this year but there was a scheduling issue on Maryland’s end. Said it isn’t 100% done for next year and he wants to get a couple more rounds of golf and dinners out of Cooley first, but it should happen starting next year.
He also said that Maryland will be playing in next year’s Empire Classic. This year’s event features Indiana, UConn, Texas and Louisville. One can only hope they will have that loaded of a field next year.
